For Family Literacy Day the grade 3 students recorded themselves reading stories for their families at home to listen to. Then we read stories as a class about families around the world. Finally for the end of the day, Ms. Slocum’s Aunt, Mrs. Cox ( a retired principal/teacher) from Nova Scotia, read a story online to all the students about First Nations families.
