CSI meet with Fox Creek RCMP
CSI meet with Fox Creek RCMP
On Friday October 21, 2022.the Grade 7-9 CSI class had an amazing visit with Sergeant and Corporal Brand for an in class discussion about Careers in Law Enforcement, crime scenes, interviewing suspects and daily duties as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The CSI class has been trying to solve a murder case that was presented to them in early September and needed professional advice from the local RCMP. Many good questions and discussions were established by the Jr. High class with input from the local officers. The class was also invited by the Brands and the RCMP team to come to the local police detachment to experience and understand the process of criminal investigation on Tuesday October 25, 2022. At the detachment students were able to see the holding cells, interview rooms, the front desk and the police vehicles. The class was shown the process of a crime scene investigation. Students also witnessed how important observation skills are in this career. Honesty and integrity is an important character value in order to become a positive influence and representative in any career in law enforcement. Students learned how people skills and compassion are necessary in this profession. Knowing how to speak and support others in a time of crisis is an important part of this career. Following the evidence and not your opinion may be difficult when dealing with a crime case, however it is a necessity. Stay in school and pursue your dream was one of the messages given to the students. The CSI class would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Brand and the local RCMP branch for giving their time and experience to help the students progress and move forward with a better understanding of their crime scene at Fox Creek school.
