Medical Summer Camp!

Applications for the 2024 Summer Camp are now open!

Studies have shown that students from low socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds make up less than 5% of medical school classes.

This statistic may reflect that students of low SES have less exposure to the medical profession, lack mentors to inspire them to pursue a medical career, and/or struggle with financial barriers.

Studies have also shown that Black and Indigenous students are underrepresented in Medical School, despite making up 6.1% (Black) and 5.9% (Indigenous) of the population, Black Medical Students make up <4%, and Indigenous Medical Students make up <5%, of recent Medical School Classes.

The Asclepius camp serves to give much needed exposure to the medical profession, as well as inspire students to dream big, and teach them that there are many financial options to fund their medical education.
